Why Job satisfaction is a crucial Phenomenon
Employee satisfaction or job satisfaction is one among the
key goals of all HR personnel regardless of what their individual Key Responsible areas are. A
satisfied employee isn't just a retained employee but an envoy for the brand,
internally and externally. she will help dispel the apprehensions of others and
may defend the corporate in various fora. Happy employees are more loyal to the
corporate and its objectives, they are going the additional mile to realize
goals and pride oneself in their jobs, their teams and their achievements.
The majority of organizations view job satisfaction as
hooked in to 2 things – salary and ‘recreational activities’. While employees
do make an impact supported these parameters, they can't form the idea of
employee engagement. Recently, a study published by Harvard observed that
employee engagement programs only function an attempt within the arm and
satisfaction levels dip soon after. What matters is how HR understanding the
requirements of its employees and what it does to bring a match between
employee needs and company goals.
Why Employee Satisfaction Matters
Employee satisfaction must be treated with both short and
long-term visions. within the short term, it's directly linked to attrition and
employee-organization match. it's important that folks perceive the corporate
during a positive light in their youth of employment, else it might not take
long for them to seem for a change. within the future, it's more damaging when
an employee isn't satisfied but continues to figure with a corporation thanks
to other reasons. the worker starts to seem for reasons to dislike the
corporate more. for instance, if a nasty appraisal is that the core reason behind
her disappointment, the worker might then perceive that there's favoritism or
that the corporate doesn't treat her as a valuable asset. Such impressions
corrode the worth an employee places on the corporate and this gets projected
extrinsically, often among an audience with whom the equity of the organization
gets affected.
A dissatisfied employee expresses his / her negative perceptions and attitudes more in external forums than internal ones, for fear of repercussion. And when
an existing employee speaks ill of the corporate, it reduces the prospects of
the listener to hitch the corporate and therefore the reputation of the
organization is impacted.
Job satisfaction may be a vital a part of an employee’s
life cycle and motivation to stay loyal to and employed with a corporation.
variety of activities or tasks of an HR team directly or indirectly influence
employee satisfaction levels. Therefore, HR must also remember that how a
corporation functions through its policies, senior management and culture will
impact how happy employees are and can help it reap financial, cultural and
brand equity benefits.
